Tech Days Lohmar 2026

Bring your part – we’ll mark it live on site.

Dot peen marked DataMatrix code on a metal component for direct part marking and automated traceability.

Can a Data Matrix Code be reliably marked on your component and still remain readable later in the production process?

This is a question many manufacturers face when implementing traceability requirements in increasingly demanding production environments.

On 18 November 2026, participants will have the opportunity to find out firsthand during a practical marking workshop in Lohmar, Germany. Rather than relying on presentations and theoretical examples, the event focuses on real-world applications. Attendees are invited to bring their own components, which will be marked live on site and assessed together with marking experts.

The workshop is designed to provide practical answers to practical challenges. By working directly with their own samples, participants can immediately see what works, what limitations may exist, and which marking solutions are best suited to their specific requirements. Questions regarding component preparation, material characteristics, readability requirements and process integration can be discussed directly with specialists throughout the day.

In addition to the live marking sessions, visitors will have the opportunity to experience selected marking technologies and complementary Hitachi automation solutions in operation. The event also includes expert presentations covering current topics in industrial traceability, including Data Matrix Codes (DMC) and marking before surface treatment. A special guest presentation from Cognex will provide additional insights into identification and code reading technologies.

The event is aimed at professionals responsible for component traceability in production, quality assurance and design engineering. Thanks to the small-group format, participants will benefit from personal support and direct access to experienced experts.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, 18 November 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at An der Burg Sülz 29, 53797 Lohmar, Germany. Participation is free of charge, and food and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

To make the most of the workshop, attendees are encouraged to bring one or two sample parts and indicate the material and surface characteristics during registration. This allows the team to prepare specifically for each application. As time at the marking systems is limited, samples will be scheduled in the order registrations are received.

Early registration is recommended to maximise the opportunity for detailed marking tests and discussions. Participation is free of charge.
